ESP32 Development Boards and Accessories for IoT Applications
Posted by
onThe integration of Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and Bluetooth LE allows a wide range of applications with the ESP32 modules. Wi-Fi ensures connectivity within a large radius, while Bluetooth allows the user to easily detect (with low-energy beacons) a module and connect it to a smartphone. The chips add priceless functionality and versatility to your applications with in-built antenna switches, RF balun, power amplifier, low noise receive amplifier, filters, and power management modules. All ESP32 Series of modules have a wide operating temperature range of -40°C to 105°C and are suitable for commercial application development with a robust 4-layer design fully compliant with FCC, CE-RED, SRRC, IC, KCC & TELEC standards.
ESP32 Module Ethernet WiFi Bluetooth Development Board
The WT32-ETH01 is an embedded serial (TTL) to Ethernet module based on the ESP32 series WT32-S1 MCU. The module operates with an optimized TCP/IP protocol stack that integrates Ethernet networking functions into embedded devices while reducing development time cost. Furthermore, the module is compatible with half-pad and through-hole connectors.
The board has a small form factor. It easily fits on boards, connectors, or even breadboards, making it handy for users to apply in various designs.
The ESP32 series IC is an integrated 2.4GHz Wi-Fi and Bluetooth dual-mode SOC, with ultra-high RF performance, stability, versatility, reliability, and ultra-low power consumption.
ESP32 WiFi, Bluetooth Classic, BLE, CAN Bus Module With 3.5" Touch LCD
The ESP32 board comes with onboard ESP32 WROOM-32 WiFi, Bluetooth Classic, BLE Module, and a CAN Bus transceiver. Also built-in is an RGB LED plus a 3.5" capacitive touch screen controlled via SPI bus. The programming is accomplished through the USB-to-Serial converter with USB-C connector, automatic bootloader, and reset. The USB port can power the board or external 7 to 24 VDC supported by the onboard SMPS supply.
The ESP32 is a series of low-cost, low-power system-on-chip microcontrollers with integrated WiFi and dual-mode Bluetooth. The ESP32 series employs a Tensilica Xtensa LX6 microprocessor in dual-core and single-core variations and includes built-in antenna switches, RF balun, power amplifier, low-noise receive amplifier, filters, and power management modules.
FreeRTOS for ESP32-Arduino
Programming embedded systems can be complicated due to resource constraints and limited debugging facilities. Why develop your own Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) and your application when the proven FreeRTOS software is freely available? Why not start with a validated and established foundation?
Every software developer knows that you must divide a complex problem into smaller ones to solve it. Using separate preemptive tasks and FreeRTOS communication mechanisms, a clean separation of functions is achieved within the entire application. This results in safe and maintainable designs.
Practicing engineers and students alike can use this book and the ESP32 Arduino environment for wading into FreeRTOS concepts at a comfortable pace. The well-organized text enables you to master each concept before starting the next chapter. Practical breadboard experiments and schematics are included to bring the lessons home.
Screw Terminal Block Breakout Module Board for ESP32-DevKitC
With the breakout board, the user can easily extend the ESP32-DevKitC projects to industrial control applications.
PCB mount Terminal Block:
- Pitch 5.0mm/0.197"
- Strip length 7mm
- Screws - M2.5
- Cr3+ Zn plated
- Pin header and cage - brass
- Wire range 28AWG ~ 12AWG / 2.5mm square.
- FR-4 fiber glass PCB, dual copper layers.
The scope of delivery does not include the ESP32-DevKitC module. The breakout board supports the official ESPRESSIF ESP32-DevKitC, but there is no guarantee that it works with other third-party modules. Check the official ESPRESSIF website for more information before buying.
ESP32 WiFi, Bluetooth Classic, BLE, CAN Bus Module
This board comes with an onboard ESP32 WROOM-32 WiFi, Bluetooth Classic, BLE Module, and a CAN Bus port with a transceiver. Also, onboard is an RGB LED, IO pins on a 0.1" pad.
Programming is accomplished through the popular Arduino IDE connected to the USB-to-Serial converter with USB-C connector, automatic bootloader, and reset.
The ESP32 is a series of low-cost, low-power system-on-chip microcontrollers with integrated WiFi and dual-mode Bluetooth. The Official ESP32 Book
Espressif Systems has recently developed a new microcontroller chip named the ESP32. In addition to all the ESP8266 features, the ESP32 provides Bluetooth communications capability, more significant SRAM data memory, more GPIOs, more interface signals, touch sensor, temperature sensor, higher CPU speed, CAN bus connectivity, higher resolution ADC converters, DAC converters, and security features. This book is an introduction to the ESP32 processor and describes the leading hardware and software features of this chip.
The book's main aim is to teach the reader how to use the ESP32 hardware and software in practical projects, especially using the viral ESP32 development board. Many basic, simple, and intermediate-level projects are introduced in the book based on the ESP32 DevKitC development board, using the highly popular Arduino IDE and the MicroPython programming language. The projects have been organized in increasing levels of difficulty.
The ESP32 hardware kit is available from Elektor, specially prepared for the book. The kit contains all the components used in the projects in this book. With the help of this hardware kit, it should be easy and fun to build the projects in the book.
