Sunix CAN4F00SI PCIe to 4-port Isolated CAN FD

Sunix (Taiwan) manufactures CAN (FD) interface cards for commercial, agricultural, military, government, recreational, and other industries. Their recently introduced CAN4F00SI PCIe card offers four isolated CAN FD ports.

The interface cards can self-diagnose and repair data errors to meet the demand for accurate UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) control in mission-critical applications. The mission computers, autopilot computers, actuators, and sensors can interconnect via CAN FD using the interface cards. CAN FD surpasses the limits of Classical CAN, allowing higher data-phase bit rates (more than 1 Mbit/s) and payloads (up to 64 bytes). In addition, CAN (FD) usage offers increased reliability, simplified cabling, and reduction of cable weight, which matters to battery-powered UAVs.

With the built-in Sunix’ Qiuniu controller and other included features, the cards are suitable for use in edge computers, electric vehicles, UAVs, UGVs (Unmanned Ground Vehicles), AGVs (Automated Guide Vehicles), AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robots), and IVI (In-Vehicle Infotainment) applications. In addition, the company provides a SocketCAN driver for programming using the Linux operating system.

One recently introduced board is the CAN4F00SI PCIe with four isolated CAN (FD) ports. It supports Classical CAN and CAN FD with data-phase rates up to 8 Mbit/s and isolation on each CAN (FD) channel of up to 2,5 kV. There is plug-and-play functionality as the I/O addresses and IRQs (Interrupt Requests) are assigned by the system. The termination resistance of 120 Ω is configurable through software. The card has a PCB connector (DB44 socket) and operates from -20 °C to +70 °C.
