The MasterCAN DAC15 module converts digital data (SPN) of a vehicle's SAE J1939 network (CAN Bus) into various types of analog signals (voltage, frequency, current, discrete, resistive) and vice versa for further transfer with data logging devices providing the corresponding analog inputs.
The MasterCAN DAC15 can be used with the CANCrocodile contactless reader in an out-of-the-box solution for integrating vehicle CAN Bus essential data into vehicle telematics system through analog inputs of the tracking device.
MasterCAN DAC15 Technical Specifications
MasterCAN DAC15 Configuration
The MasterCAN DAC15 is configured through the Service S6 MasterCAN software and the S6 SK service kit via K-Line (SAE 14230) interface.
Digital-analog gateway mode: Provides settings of MasterCAN DAC15 analog outputs according to parameters (SPN) received from the vehicle's CAN bus messages (PGN).
The SPN list for MasterCAN DAC15 contains the following vehicle operation parameters:
- Fuel level and fuel volume;
- Temperature (oil, fuel, etc.);
- Pressure (oil, fuel);
- Fuel consumption;
- Engine RPM;
- Speed;
- Power supply voltage;
- Axle load and etc.
Collector-converter mode: Provides parameter settings (SPN) of output PGN messages of MasterCAN DAC15 according to received analog input signal. MasterCAN DAC15 is configured with software Service S6 MasterCAN and S6 SK service kit via K-Line (SAE 14230) interface.

SAE J1939 Starter Kit And Network Simulator
The JCOM.J1939 Starter Kit And Network Simulator is designed to allow the experienced engineer as well as the beginner to experiment with SAE J1939 data communication without the need of connecting to a real-world J1939 network, i.e., a diesel engine.
In order to establish a network, you need at least two nodes. That fact applies especially to CAN/J1939, where the CAN controller will shut down after transmitting data without receiving a response. For that reason, our jCOM.J1939 Starter Kit And Network Simulator consists of two J1939 nodes, namely our jCOM.J1939.USB, an SAE J1939 ECU Simulator Board With USB Port.
The jCOM.J1939.USB gateway board is a high-performance, low-latency vehicle network adapter for SAE J1939 applications. The board supports the full SAE J1939 protocol according to J1939/81 Network Management (Address Claiming) and J1939/21 Transport Protocol (TP).
