Real-Time Ethernet Slave Interface For Raspberry Pi With ProfiNet, Ethernet/IP, EtherCAT Firmware Options
Posted by
onThe netHAT module upgrades a Raspberry Pi 2/3/Zero to a Real-Time Ethernet capable slave device allowing the exchange of cyclic process data between an RPi application and a Real-Time Ethernet network. The module is compatible with the Hardware Attached on Top (HAT) specification by the Raspberry Foundation. The RPi and netHAT communicate via the internal SPI0 interface.
Due to the multi-protocol capability of the Industrial Network controller netX, the integration into networks such as PROFINET, EtherNet/IP or EtherCAT is just a matter of a firmware loading procedure. The product DVD includes a ready-to-use driver that configures the module to 32 bytes input and 32 bytes output fix for each of the networks. Also included are the device description files needed for the network engineering softwares during commissioning times.
Features
- Adds Real-Time Ethernet slave interface to Raspberry
- Compatible with Raspberry Pi 2, 3, Zero
- PROFINET, EtherNet/IP and EtherCAT firmware
- Input and output data configured with 32 bytes
- Delivery includes device description files, drivers, and examples
Raspberry Pi 3 System With CAN Bus Interface
Our Raspberry Pi 3 System With CAN Bus Interface (PiCAN2) comes with a pre-installed Raspbian operating system.
The system is equipped with a PiCAN2 board, depending on the selected option, with or without SMPS (Switch Mode Power Supply).
The included PiCAN2 board provides Controller Area Network (CAN) Bus capabilities for the Raspberry Pi. It uses the Microchip MCP2515 CAN controller with MCP2551 CAN transceiver. Connection are made via DB9 or 3-way screw terminal.
There is an easy-to-install SocketCAN driver, and programming can be accomplished in C or Python.
The Switch mode power supply (SMPS) option allows connecting an input voltage range of 6 VDC to 30 VDC suitable for industrial and automotive applications and environments.
