New Series Of Industrial PLCs Based On The ESP32 Module
Posted by
onIndustrial Shields introduced a new series of industrial PLCs based on the powerful and versatile ESP32 module. This new family of products accompanies their Industrial Shields Arduino and Raspberry Pi-based controllers and broadens its industrial automation offering.
With the inclusion of the ESP32 board, the Industrial Shields catalog adds 13 new controllers, which support similar characteristics to those of the M-Duino family: 21, 42, 58, 19R, 38R, 57R, 38AR+, 53AAR+, 57AAR+, 54ARA+ and 50RRA+.
The PLCs allow the monitoring, control, and automation of machines, alarms, elevator control, product lines, installations among the most typical applications such as fans, pumps, air conditioning, full HVAC solutions, and control of AC and DC motors. They are easy to install and configure, and very flexible thanks to the Open Source based hardware.
Also, the ESP32 module is part of the ten IOs ESP32 Digital and Relay modules.
The ESP32 PLC supports industrial communication protocols and technologies such as:
- Ethernet
- RS485
- Serial Port
- I2C
- SPI
- Modbus (RTU - TCP)
- WiFi
- Bluetooth
- BLE
ESP32 WiFi, Bluetooth Classic, BLE, CAN Bus Module
This board comes with an onboard ESP32 WROOM-32 WiFi, Bluetooth Classic, BLE Module, and a CAN Bus port with a transceiver. Onboard is an RGB LED, IO pins on a 0.1" pad.
Programming is accomplished through the popular Arduino IDE connected to the USB-to-Serial converter with USB-C connector, automatic bootloader and reset.
The ESP32 is a series of low-cost, low-power system-on-chip microcontrollers with integrated Wi-Fi and dual-mode Bluetooth. The ESP32 series employs a Tensilica Xtensa LX6 microprocessor in both dual-core and single-core variations and includes built-in antenna switches, RF balun, power amplifier, low-noise receive amplifier, filters, and power management modules.
