Miniature Joystick With CAN Bus Interface Supports SAE J1939 And CANopen

Posted by Industry News on

Megatron Finger Joystick Series TRY120 With CAN bus, SAE J1939, CANopen Interface

Megatron introduced its TRY120 series of miniature joysticks with an installation depth of 26 mm. The onboard CAN Bus interface supports the CANopen and SAE J1939 serial protocols. With the TRY120 series, Megatron expands the TRY100 finger joystick series with a version for the operation in harsh environments. Both sets use identical geometries and thus allow a direct replacement.

The joystick robustness stems from the internal metal mechanism. The extended spring and reset forces and the IP67-rated sealing are essential features for outdoor applications. The devices are designed for approximately five million movements, guaranteeing safe operation throughout the lifespan of machines.

The joysticks come with up to three axes and two pushbuttons. The maximum permissible force on the mechanism is 350 N in X- and Y-direction. The Z-axis of the knob withstands up to 9-Nm torque. The sensor technology utilizes the non-contact Hall effect.

The four available knob types are suitable for operation for two and three axes, whereby the 2-axis knob is not rotatable. The 3-axis version has an integrated sensor and a return spring. The Cobra knob represents a particularly attractive design, supporting operations using the whole hand.

SAE J1939 Starter Kit And Network Simulator

SAE J1939 Starter Kit And Network Simulator

Our J COM.J1939 Starter Kit And Network Simulator is designed to allow the experienced engineer as well as the beginner to experiment with SAE J1939 data communication without the need of connecting to a real-world J1939 network, i.e. a diesel engine. It may sound obvious, but in order to establish a network, you need at least two nodes, and that fact applies especially to CAN/J1939 where the CAN controller will basically shut down after transmitting data without receiving a response. For that reason, our jCOM.J1939 Starter Kit And Network Simulator consists of two J1939 nodes, namely our jCOM.J1939.USB, an SAE J1939 ECU Simulator Board With USB Port.

The jCOM.J1939.USB gateway board is a high-performance, low-latency vehicle network adapter for SAE J1939 applications. The board supports the full SAE J1939 protocol according to J1939/81 Network Management (Address Claiming) and J1939/21 Transport Protocol (TP).
