Technologic Systems launched their TS-7100, a small-size single-board computer with an optional DIN-mountable enclosure that measures 2.4" by 3.6" by 1.7". It is powered by the ARM iMX6 UltraLite microprocessor, and it ships with a variety of industry-standard interfaces, including Ethernet, USB, RS-232, RS-485, and CAN Bus.
A Linux PC is recommended for development and will be assumed for the development process. For users in Windows or OSX, Technologic System recommends the virtualizing of a Linux PC.
Most of the platforms run Debian, and if there is no personal distribution preference, this is what they recommend for ease of use.
For wireless connectivity, the TS-7100 comes with WiFi and Bluetooth modules, as well as a NimbeLink/Digi cellular modem and mesh network socket. The fanless design of the TS-7100 paired with the low-cost enclosure resists high vibration, debris, and operates at an extended temperature range of -40 °C to 85 °C.
- Supports graphical HMI requirements with the 2.8" touch panel LCD
- Small footprint and DIN-mountable enclosure for tight and secure installs
- Robust TS-SILO option provides up to 30 seconds of hold up power
- Connected with Dual Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, NimbeLink/Digi socket
Embedded Linux Primer: A Practical Real-World Approach
Linux has emerged as the operating system of choice for embedded products. Christopher Hallinan’s Embedded Linux Primer has manifested itself as the definitive real-world guide to building efficient, high-value, embedded systems with Linux.
Drawing on more than a decade of embedded Linux experience, Hallinan supports the user to climb the learning curve quickly, whether one is moving from legacy environments or is new to embedded programming.
Hallinan addresses today’s most pressing development challenges and explains how to resolve the most likely problems.
The reader will learn how to build a modern, efficient embedded Linux development environment, and then utilize it as productively as possible.
Hallinan gives up-to-date guidance on everything from kernel configuration and initialization to bootloaders, device drivers to file systems and BusyBox utilities to real-time setup and system analysis. This edition adds completely new chapters on UDEV, USB, and open-source build systems.
