PCI/104-Express Interface Supports Up To Four CAN FD Ports
Posted by
onPeak-System introduced their PCAN-PCI/104-Express FD interface board, which is now available as single, dual, and four-channel version. Up to four cards can be stacked for access to Classical CAN Bus and CAN FD networks.
The connection to the CAN network is made via the D-sub slot brackets included in the delivery. Stack-through connectors for the PCI bus are supplied on request.
The PCAN-PCI/104-Express FD reaches bit rates up to 12 Mbit/s for CAN FD frames. The galvanic isolation between the computer and the CAN side is 500 V. Furthermore, a 5-V supply for external devices and an internal termination for each CAN channel can be activated via solder bridges. Beside the hardware, there is also a product DVD with the CAN monitor PCAN-View, several APIs, and device drivers for Linux and Windows.
CAN Bus FD Board With Real-Time Clock For Raspberry Pi
The PiCAN FD board provides CAN Bus FD (Flexible Data Rate) capability for the Raspberry Pi 3. It uses the Microchip MCP2517FD CAN FD controller with MCP2562FD CAN transceiver.
Developed by Bosch, CAN with Flexible Data-Rate (CAN FD) is an extension to the original CAN protocol as specified in ISO 11898-1 that responds to increased bandwidth requirements in automotive networks.
Connections are made via DB9 or 4 way screw terminal. The board is also available with a 5v 1A SMPS that can power the RPi as well via the screw terminal or DB9 connector.
A real time clock with battery back up (battery not included) is also on the board.
There is an easy-to-install SocketCAN driver, and programming can be done in C or Python.
