Programmable SAE J1939 Analog Signal Output Controller

Posted by Industry News on

Axiomatic AX03050x - SAE J1939 4 Analog Signal Output Controller

The 4 Analog Signal Output CAN Bus Controller by Axiomatic extends machine control networks by adding I/O control to the CAN Bus. Diesel engine control systems with SAE J1939 can communicate with 4-20 mA or other analog signal input devices using this controller as a smart interface.

The controller can be configured to accommodate a particular application utilizing a service tool. User-selectable outputs include: 0-5V; 0-10V; +/-5V; +/-10V; 0-20mA; 4-20 mA; and +/-20mA. The controller comes in two models, the AX030500 for SAE J1939 networks or the AX030501 for CANopen applications. Baud rates of up to 1 Mbit/s are available.

The controller is part of a family of Axiomatic smart devices with programmable architecture that provides users with great flexibility, allowing them to build their custom controller with a required functionality from a set of predefined internal functional blocks using the PC-based Axiomatic Electronic Assistant software tool.

Applications

  • Commercial vehicles
  • Off-highway Construction Equipment
  • Forestry Mining and Military Vehicles
  • Power Generation
  • Standby Generators
  • Material Handling Equipment

SAE J1939 ECU Simulator Board With USB Port

SAE J1939 ECU Simulator Board With USB Port

The  jCOM.J1939.USB gateway board is a high-performance, low-latency vehicle network adapter for SAE J1939 applications. It allows any host device with a USB COM port to monitor SAE J1939 data traffic and communicate with the SAE J1939 vehicle network.

The board can be easily modified (solder jumpers) to support UART mode instead of USB.

The board supports the full SAE J1939 protocol according to J1939/81 Network Management (Address Claiming) and J1939/21 Transport Protocol (TP). It is also supported by an extensive programming interface for Windows and Linux/Ubuntu applications, including full C/C++/C# source code for short time-to-market developments.

With all its features, the jCOM.J1939.USB allows the simulation of an SAE J1939 ECU (Electronic Control Unit) using embedded solutions such as the Raspberry Pi, BeagleBone, Arduino, Teensy, and others but also PCs running Windows or Linux (incl. Ubuntu, Fedora, etc.).
