Marine Flow Meter With SAE J1939 Interface For Fuel Consumption Measurement

Posted by Industry News on

DFM Marine fuel flow meter by Technoton

The DFM Marine flow meter by Technoton represents a system for the direct measurement of fuel consumption in engine lines or fuel lines of boilers/burners, designed for fuel systems with hourly consumption from 20 to 4,000 l/h.

The CAN Bus /  SAE J1939 interface provides more than sixty useful parameters and counters, transmits data (PGN) according to the SAE J1939 standard, and allows to measure differential and total fuel consumption of sixteen fuel consumers simultaneously.

The DFM Marine operates in combination with telematics systems (GPS tracking systems), supporting autonomous fuel monitoring. DFM Marine installs into the fuel line of the engine, boiler, or burner. It measures fuel consumption and generates an output signal sent to the telematics unit (GPS tracker).

The DFM Marine is used for monitoring fuel consumption and operating time of engine (fuel consumer), and it is suitable for:

  • Water transport – sea and river vessels;
  • Locomotives and railway machines;
  • Quarrying and mining machinery;
  • Powerful diesel generators, boilers, burners.

The device's tasks include:

  • Fuel consumption optimization
  • Fuel misuse and theft detection
  • Fuel consumption monitoring
  • Engine testing for fuel consumption
  • Machine hours monitoring

SAE J1939 Starter Kit And Network Simulator

SAE J1939 Starter Kit And Network Simulator

Our JCOM.J1939 Starter Kit And Network Simulator is designed to allow the experienced engineer as well as the beginner to experiment with SAE J1939 data communication without the need of connecting to a real-world J1939 network, i.e. a diesel engine. It may sound obvious, but in order to establish a network, you need at least two nodes, and that fact applies especially to CAN/J1939 where the CAN controller will basically shut down after transmitting data without receiving a response. For that reason, our jCOM.J1939 Starter Kit And Network Simulator consists of two J1939 nodes, namely our jCOM.J1939.USB, an SAE J1939 ECU Simulator Board With USB Port.

The jCOM.J1939.USB gateway board is a high-performance, low-latency vehicle network adapter for SAE J1939 applications. The board supports the full SAE J1939 protocol according to J1939/81 Network Management (Address Claiming) and J1939/21 Transport Protocol (TP).
