Dual Axis CAN Bus SAE J1939 Inclinometer For Use In Agricultural Machinery, Forklifts
Posted by
onThe 0729-1761-99 Dual Axis CAN Bus SAE J1939 Inclinometer by The Fredericks Company is designed to prevent unsafe operation of industrial machinery and uses a wide-range electrolytic tilt sensor and signal conditioner to provide reliable tilt measurement.
The inclinometer measures and signals tilt from a level position in applications such as construction and agricultural machinery, forklifts, scissor lifts, and telescopic handlers. The inclinometer uses a Fredericks TrueTilt wide-range electrolytic tilt sensor and signal conditioner to provide reliable tilt measurement. The device is ideal for measuring the angular movement of industrial machinery in applications that require a wide operating range and exceptional accuracy. Contained in a durable high-temperature Noryl plastic housing with urethane potting, the inclinometer can withstand extreme environmental conditions. Controller area network (CAN) specifications are factory set according to user requirements, with the standard unit using the Society of Automotive Engineers J1939 vehicle bus protocol. The inclinometer is IP66 rated, CE certified and RoHS compliant. It includes a supply voltage of 6 to 40 V dc, ±25-deg dual axis measurement and operating temperature of -40 to +85 C.
A Comprehensible Guide to J1939
SAE J1939 has become the accepted industry standard and the vehicle network technology of choice for off-highway machines in applications such as construction, material handling, and forestry machines. J1939 is a higher-layer protocol based on Controller Area Network (CAN). It provides serial data communications between microprocessor systems (also called Electronic Control Units - ECU) in any kind of heavy duty vehicles. The messages exchanged between these units can be data such as vehicle road speed, torque control message from the transmission to the engine, oil temperature, and many more.
The information in this book is based on two documents of the SAE J1939 Standards Collection: J1939/21 - Data Link Layer J1939/81 - Network Management A Comprehensible Guide to J1939 is the first work on J1939 besides the SAE J1939 standards collection. It provides profound information on the J1939 message format and network management combined with a high level of readability.
