EMCOMO EM-RPI-Box - Embedded System With Two CAN-FD Interfaces Based On Raspberry Pi CPU

Emcomo (Germany) introduced its EM-RPI-Box passive-cooled embedded system with two CAN FD interfaces. The fanless embedded system with two CAN FD interfaces is based on a Raspberry Pi CPU board, and it comes with several mounting options. Target applications are industrial automation and automotive.

The product comes with a Broadcom BCM2711, quad-core Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC at 1,5 GHz, a two GiB LPDDR4 memory (optional four or eight GiB), and a 32-GiB Flash and Micro-SD card. The two CAN FD interfaces are accessible through DSUB-9 connectors. Mounting options include desktop, DIN-Rail, or wall-mount.

The box PC measures 95 mm x 84 mm x 32 mm (3.7" x 3.3" x 1.3") and accepts an input voltage range of 12 VDC to 24 VDC. The operating temperature is 0 °C to +50 °C and storage temperature -20 °C to +80 °C.

Features

  • Broadcom BCM2711, quad-core Cortex-A72 (ARM v8) 64-bit SoC @ 1.5GHz
  • 2 GB LPDDR4 Memory (optional 4 or 8 GB)
  • 32 GB Flash on Micro-SD Card
  • 2 CAN-FD interfaces on Sub-D 9 connectors
  • Solid housing - fanless
  • Raspberry PI OS Linux Operating System
  • Mounting Options: Desktop, DIN-Rail or Wall-mount

Raspberry Pi 3 B+ System With Dual Isolated CAN Bus Interface

Raspberry Pi 3 B+ System With Dual Isolated CAN Bus Interface

Our Raspberry Pi 3 System With CAN Bus Interface (PiCAN2) comes with a pre-installed Raspbian operating system. The Raspberry Pi 3 B+ is equipped with a high-performance heatsink set to reduce chip hot-spots and to increase the thermal dissipation surface area.

The PiCAN2 DUO ISO board provides Controller Area Network (CAN) Bus capabilities for the Raspberry Pi.

It uses the Microchip MCP2515 CAN controller with MCP2551 CAN transceiver. Connection are made via 4-way screw terminals.

There is an easy-to-install SocketCAN driver, and programming can be accomplished in C or Python.
