Janz Tec introduced a series of embedded computers with CAN Bus FD interfaces which can also connect to the IT world.

In regards to CAN Bus connectivity, the embedded systems emPC-A/iMX6, emPC-X and the Industrial IoT Gateway series support the CAN FD protocol according to ISO 11898-1:2015, combining the advantages of embedded systems and CAN FD protocols, such as space-saving use of the robust systems for harsh industrial environments with a data transfer rate of up to 8 Mbit/s. The CAN FD protocol detects virtually all data transmission errors and is, therefore, one of the most reliable serial communication systems available.

Wireless communication channels such as LTE and WLAN for a flexible network connection are available as an option for all systems. Some computers operate within an extended temperature range for industrial environments. Janz Tec supports not only customer-specific hardware adaptations but also the integration of CAN FD systems into the existing software environment.

Raspberry Pi 3 System With Dual Isolated CAN Bus Interface

The Raspberry Pi 3 System With Dual Isolated CAN Bus Interfaces (PiCAN2) comes with a pre-installedRaspbian operating system.

The PiCAN2 DUO ISO board provides Controller Area Network (CAN) Bus capabilities for the Raspberry Pi. It uses the Microchip MCP2515 CAN controller with MCP2551 CAN transceiver. Connection are made via 4-way screw terminals.

There is an easy-to-install SocketCAN driver, and programming can be accomplished in C or Python.
