SAE J1939 To NMEA 2000 Gateway For Marine Engine Applications

Posted by Industry News on

Maretron J2K100 J1939 to NMEA 2000 Gateway

Maretron introduced their J2K100 gateway, which can be attached to a J1939-based network of marine engines, while the other CAN Bus port supports NMEA 2000 (IEC 1162-3). The gateway collects SAE J1939 engine data and forwards it to the NMEA 2000 connected display. It listens to the J1939 network and draws no power from it (power is derived from the NMEA 2000 interface). The product does not transmit any information over the J1939 network, so it will not interfere with existing engine control or status data in any way.

The gateway can also be used as part of a fuel computer; just connect it together with the display (DSM150, DSM250, or DSM410) and GPS antenna/receiver (GPS200). This system is capable of displaying gallons per hour and/or miles per gallon. The gateway can also read other parameters from the engine network, e.g. transmission gear, engine oil pressure, and AC generator voltage/current.

SAE J1939 ECU Simulator Board With USB Port

SAE J1939 ECU Simulator Board With USB PortThe jCOM.J1939.USB gateway board is a high-performance, low-latency vehicle network adapter for SAE J1939 applications. It allows any host device with a USB COM port to monitor SAE J1939 data traffic and communicate with the SAE J1939 vehicle network.

The board supports the full SAE J1939 protocol according to J1939/81 Network Management (Address Claiming) and J1939/21 Transport Protocol (TP). It is also supported by an extensive programming interface for Windows and Linux/Ubuntu applications, including full C/C++/C# source code for short time-to-market developments.

In addition, the gateway is supported by our jCOM1939 Monitor, an SAE J1939 Monitoring, Analyzer and ECU Simulation software under Windows.
